Datuk Ruslin Jusoh, Director-General of the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), has stated that implementing urine tests at concert venues is impractical and difficult to execute. He emphasizes the need for careful and timely screening, making it unfeasible to test everyone present. Instead, AADK is focusing on increased presence, enforcement efforts, and anti-drug prevention campaigns at these venues, potentially incorporating anti-drug messages on tickets and before concerts. Ruslin also highlights the rise in drug abuse cases, particularly among individuals aged 19-39, with Amphetamine Type Stimulants being the most commonly abused drug. He stresses the need for a more aggressive approach to combat this growing issue and AADK's efforts to disseminate accurate anti-drug information through a planned Anti-Drug Communication Plan.
The proposed implementation of urine tests at concert venues is impractical and difficult to carry out, according to the Director-General of the National Anti-Drug Agency , Datuk Ruslin Jusoh.
“Perhaps, on the tickets themselves, we can include an anti-drug logo and also run an anti-drug campaign before the concert begins. He said that individuals aged between 19 and 39 were the group most involved in drug abuse, with 98,9777 people or 53.8 per cent of the total detected.
