Health authorities have revealed the signs to look out for in young kids following the death of a child who is believed to have been exposed to a rare mosquito disease in a recently flooded area.

A child has died from a"very rare" case of a mosquito-borne disease in Western Australia.

There have been eight cases of Murray Valley encephalitis reported in 2023. She has urged communities, particularly in those regions, to"do everything they can" to protect themselves from being bitten by mosquitoes.

Recent rainfall in parts of Western Australia has created perfect breeding conditions for the insects and increases the likelihood of further MVE cases., taking the toll from MVE in that state to two fatalities in 2023.
