Residents have been urged to immediately evacuate as raging bushfires tear through at least 32 properties and hectares of Queensland’s south east.
Severe blazes have already claimed the lives of two women, who died after separate fires engulfed their properties in the Western Downs.
There are 27 fire warnings in place across the state as of Friday, with three flagged as watch and act. Residents who fled the affected areas between Moondarra Drive, Barramundi Way, The Junction, and tracks and parks around Lake Moondarra were later told to remain where they were, as it was not safe to return.
