Retailer Urban Rampage, whose customers are predominantly First Nations people, is considering a legal challenge against its ban from using Centrepay, a credit service that lets consumers buy goods and pay them off via deductions from their Centrelink payments.
Retail chain Urban Rampage has been permanently banned from using the credit tool Centrepay after the corporate regulator found it was causing financial harm. Urban Rampage will appeal the decision and says it may launch a legal challenge under the Racial Discrimination Act.
