Police in New York said the tattoo was “not a professional job,” was done in a hotel, and that the boy's mother was not in the room when it was done.
reports Crystal Thomas, a 33-year-old resident of Highland, N.Y., has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child after allegedly allowing him to get the body art. She was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in town court at a later date.that the tattoo occurred when the boy was staying in a motel with his mother and older sibling when they learned a man in a neighboring room could give the child a tattoo.
According to the police report, the tattoo was discovered by a school nurse when the boy sought to have Vaseline applied over it. The nurse reported it to it a school resource officer who contacted police in Lloyd, located near Highland and Poughkeepsie.
