Its vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohammad Shatar Sabran said the increasingly challenging complexity of tertiary institutions warrants a special ministry which would be responsible for the direction and performance of these bodies. “We are confident that the proposal by the Prime Minister to revive the Ministry of Higher Education is a noble one and we in UPSI are supportive of the idea,” he said in a statement here today.

Mohammad Shatar also congratulated Dr Mahathir for being the interim Education Minister until the appointment of a new minister.
