A BRIEF shouting match erupted when Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said Hulu Langat lawmaker Mohd Sany Hamzan was acting like a “monkey in the jungle”.
During the Budget 2023 debate, Shahidan praised the PAS-held states of Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.
He said these states were enjoying harmony, pointing out that this was a testament to PAS’ success in governing and the party’s administration was based on Islamic principles. However, he was interrupted several times by Mohd Sany, who warned PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man that he was in “danger” as Shahidan might fight for his post in the party.To this, Shahidan said: “I would like to advise Hulu Langat, who is worse than a monkey in the jungle.”He asked that Shahidan end his speech quickly.“As a senior MP, he should set a good example. Please retract that word. Even I don’t use such words.”“This is between me and Arau.
Arau then stood up, explaining that he didn’t mean to say that and that he had no grudge against Mohd Sany.Johari then said that the “case is closed”.
