The Sabah Environment Protection Department (EPD) has launched the third edition of its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) handbook with updated guidelines which will make it easier for stakeholders to implement the EIA process.
Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew said the updates in the book aim to increase the effectiveness of the environmental assessment process through increased transparency and clarity regarding procedures and guidelines.“This handbook was prepared in accordance with the requirements under Section 15 of the Environment Protection Enactment 2002, for continual improvement of the EIA system by EPD.
