SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Police officer who was shot in the arm in Chollas Creek has returned home from the hospital, SDPD Chief David Nisleit announced during a Friday afternoon press conference.
The officer who was shot was wearing a body camera, and the chief provided a basic description of the suspect garnered from the video: A Hispanic man, possibly in his 30s, wearing a gray top and dark pants or shorts. Chief Nisleit says all officers are aware about the dangers of the job, but recent incidents are a reminder of that reality. Another San Diego police officer was shot in Dec. 2022, and Nisleit says there have been four other instances in which suspects fired at officers over the last 10 months.
SAN DIEGO - San Diego Police, SWAT officers and San Diego County sheriff's deputies on Friday continued to search for the gunman who shot an officer in the arm in a Chollas Creek-area neighborhood.
