The DAP secretary-general remains reticent on reports of a rift over Paul Yong's status as a state exco member. FMTNews

PETALING JAYA: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today appeared to distance himself from reports of a widening rift between office bearers in the party’s Perak division, saying it is up to the state leadership to resolve the conflict.

“We leave it to the Perak state committee to resolve it,” he told reporters after launching the 1Utama 1PAY E-wallet and ONESHOP E-Commerce Platform here.Lim was responding to questions on reports of infighting in Perak DAP, which saw two of its office bearers quit yesterday over a dispute with state chief Nga Kor Ming regarding Paul Yong’s status as a state exco member.

He said the government intends to keep its election pledge of 20% oil royalties for the state, adding however that it is presently unable to do so due to the previous administration which he said had “caused enormous amounts of funds to be wasted”. He said the country had lost about RM150 billion to 1MDB and other scandals but assured that the government would announce measures to show its commitment to Sabah and Sarawak.
