An unmade Transformers prequel created the perfect setup for a G.I. Joe and Transformers crossover, 8 years before Transformers: Rise of the Beats.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT 8 years before Transformers: Rise of the Beasts hinted at a potential crossover between G.I. Joe and Transformers, a canceled Transformers prequel film created the perfect setup for it to happen. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts unfolds in the year 1994 on Earth, where a former military electronic engineer, Noah Diaz, struggles to stay afloat.

After Noah saves the world with his Autobots friends toward Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' ending, he gets the opportunity to work with the G.I. Joe. With this, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts sets the stage for a G.I. Joe and Transformers live-action crossover, which had been in the talks for a long time. However, long before Transformers 7 made this G.I. Joe reveal, an unmade Transformers movie had already created an ideal setting for a crossover between the two Hasbro franchises.

Although Operation Skyfire was scrapped, probably because of Transformers: The Last Knight's underwhelming box office performance, the prequel movie had the perfect setup for a Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover. As its storyline suggests, the Decepticons had an army of nazis on their side to fight against the Autobots. By depicting an army of human forces fighting against the Autobots, Operation Skyfire created an ideal setup for the Autobots to seek help from the G.I.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' Sequels Can Still Use Operation Skyfire's Ideas Operation Skyfire never saw the light of day, but Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' sequels can still borrow some of its ideas for its future G.I. Joe and Transformers crossover narratives.
