A trainee from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) died due to multi-organ failure caused by heat stroke after a fitness test. The incident occurred on Nov 10, and the victim was confirmed dead three days later.
The tragic death of a Reserve Officers Training Unit (Palapes) trainee from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) on Nov 13 has been confirmed to be caused by multi-organ failure due to heat stroke . Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was undergoing a fitness test ahead of basic training scheduled for next year. The victim was instructed to perform push-ups as punishment for missing a running session.
He collapsed suddenly and was rushed to the hospital where he was treated but did not respond positively. The victim was confirmed dead on Nov 13 at 2.01 am. The post-mortem revealed no external injuries on his body
