Texas will enter this season with one of the most explosive groups of wide receivers in the Big 12.

Today: Jaden Alexis, redshirt sophomore; Casey Cain, redshirt sophomore; Isaiah Neyor, senior; Jordan Whittington, redshirt senior; Xavier Worthy, junior: Johntay Cook II , Adonai Mitchell , DeAndre Moore Jr. , Ryan Niblett .Something was clearly off with Xavier Worthy during his roller-coaster sophomore campaign. But it wasn’t until this March that coach Steve Sarkisian revealed the former freshman All-American receiver had played through a broken hand during the latter half of the season.

The return of slot receiver Jordan Whittington was a key development for Texas, too. A twitchy and ferocious open-field runner and reliable third-down safety valve, the former Cuero star has also taken on an important leadership role in the locker room. Aside from the Worthy reveal, the biggest development this offseason has been the seamless transition Adonai Mitchell has made after transferring in from back-to-back national champion Georgia.

Outside of those three, Texas has some up-and-coming underclassmen and one veteran eager to make his long-awaited debut in burnt orange. “His rehab has gone really well for him, not only physically but mentally,” Sarkisian said in March. “Anytime you have surgery like that, as much as it is the physical rehab, it's the mental rehab."
