The University of Malaya (UM) has been recognized as the top university in Malaysia according to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject. The university excelled in eight out of eleven subject categories, showcasing its commitment to academic excellence.
The University of Malaya (UM) has solidified its position as the top university in Malaysia based on the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject. According to a statement from UM released by the New Straits Times, eight out of 11 subject categories at the university have achieved the highest ranking in the country.
These subjects include Business and Economics, Medicine and Health, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Life Sciences, Psychology, and Social Sciences. \ 'The university's performance in these areas, coupled with improvements in its global ranking across five regions, reflects UM's continuous commitment to academic excellence, effective research, and transformative education,' stated the university. \ This recognition demonstrates UM's dedication to providing high-quality education, fostering academic excellence, and contributing to the global community. The Vice-Chancellor of UM, Professor Datuk Seri Dr Noor Azuan Abu Osman, expressed pride in the university's achievements, particularly in the field of Law, emphasizing UM's commitment to quality and world-class academic standards. 'This ranking success is a testament to the hard work and commitment of the entire UM community, our academic staff and researchers, as well as our non-academic staff, who all work tirelessly to meet KPIs. It reflects our mission to create new successes and contribute to the advancement of civilization,' he said.

Cat Found Dead After Attack by Stray Dogs at University MalayaA cat was found dead after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs in the parking lot of University Malaya (UM) early this morning. A UM student and his friends witnessed the incident and tried to shoo the dogs away but were unable to save the cat. The witnesses saw the dogs biting the cat until it was motionless. After driving the dogs away, they found the cat was dead.
