Universities can stop classes over Covid-19 fears

RapidKL, the public transport operator with one million bus and rail patrons daily, is employing additional measures, such as daily temperature checks, to minimise risk of exposure to Covid-19. The country has 19 confirmed cases. – EPA pic, February 14, 2020.

PUBLIC universities have autonomy to make decisions regarding postponement of classes following Covid-19 infection. Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching said they made a similar move when the country was hit by smoke to protect the health of students.
