Unity govt will serve full term, says Anwar
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is confident that the unity government will serve its full term. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, March 7, 2023.While addressing over 100 diplomatic officers today, Anwar appeared unperturbed by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s assertion of being able to topple the current administration.
Abdul Hadi reportedly said no party would be able to stop Perikatan Nasional’s plan to topple the unity government. He added that such a practice was considered normal in a democratic country. “I’m sending a strong message to Malaysia that we have to chart a different course. We must effect this change, which is extremely necessary to save this country from the mess we have been in.”Anwar called on the heads of diplomatic missions to do more for the country, saying it was vital for Malaysian officers and diplomats to set an example of what it meant to be a competent leader.
