The war relic was discovered during excavation works at a site along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 towards Marymount Road, said the police.

New: You can now listen to articles.SINGAPORE: An unexploded World War II ordnance was removed on Friday from a construction site in Ang Mo Kio , where the future Teck Ghee MRT station will be built.

They were alerted to the case at about 5.45pm and worked with the Singapore Armed Forces' Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit to determine that the item was an unexploded WWII ordnance. Experts told CNA last year that it is not surprising to find unexploded war relics in random parts of Singapore as bombing during World War II was “highly inaccurate”.
