Under the threat of eminent domain, the owners of Moses Rose's Hideout said they're seeking $10 million for their downtown bar near the Alamo, and that they'll sue if their 'best and final offer' is rejected.

Their lawyers are “ready to take immediate action to file lawsuits and pursue legal injunctions” against the General Land Office “over the incorrect definition of ‘public use’” under laws regarding eminent domain, they added. As part of their overture, the Cantus also requested 10 transferable lifetime VIP passes to the museum; a tax credit for donation to the museum of all “artifacts, fossils and valuables” found at the site; and a small, permanent sign acknowledging “over 1,000 Mexican troops died here on March 6, 1836.”The true number of Mexican soldiers who died in the 1836 battle has long been debated, with estimates ranging wildly, from 70 to up to 400 or more.
