SA prepares to take the helm of the G20 summit., UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J Mohammed met with Minister, Ronald Lamola to reaffirm the UN's commitment to working closely with the South African government to promote peace, prosperity, & sustainable development.The United Nations is ready to assist South Africa in its preparation to take over the G20 Presidency in December this year.for the first time since the group was formed.
“Let’s first of all step back a bit. The last four leaderships have been from the South. South Africa represents the last of the five. It’s very important to consolidate all the efforts that have been made by the global south in order to get the issues of the developing world on the agenda, particularly the global economic agenda.
