Malaysia's Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr. Mohd. Na’im Mokhtar, emphasized the responsibility of companies handling umrah packages to prevent exploitation of pilgrims. He warned against agencies taking advantage of pilgrims' trust for personal gain, calling such actions unjust and unacceptable. The minister advised the public, particularly those interested in performing umrah, to be cautious of exceptionally low-priced packages and to thoroughly verify the legitimacy of the agencies they engage with. He stressed the importance of checking for registration and not being swayed by overly inexpensive offers. Mohd. Na’im also expressed hope for strict action against involved tour companies currently under investigation for alleged misconduct.
