KUALA LUMPUR: UMNO menyokong Barisan Nasional membentuk kerajaan perpaduan bagi memastikan sebuah kerajaan yang stabil, tetapi bukannya diterajui oleh Parikatan Nasional .

Ahmad berkata, semua wakil Umno yang memenangi kerusi Parlimen akan mematuhi dan menerima sebarang bentuk kerajaan perpaduan atau lain-lain bentuk kerajaan yang bakal dimasyhurkan Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Dalam kenyataan itu juga menyebut MT menyokong Zahid sebagai Presiden UMNO dan menerajui BN sebagai pengerusi.
