PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi wants his day in court to clear his name without his charges being dropped.
The Umno president, in clarifying that his trial yesterday was postponed and not dropped, said the case would continue today.“InsyaAllah , I will clear my name in court.
“I want the court to decide, although the charges against me were a case of selective prosecution and politically motivated, ” he said on his Facebook page. The postponement was in relation to him having to attend a meeting with newly-appointed Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to discuss the new Cabinet line-up.
Zahid is facing 47 charges of criminal breach of trust, bribery and money-laundering, involving tens of millions of ringgit belonging to Yayasan Akalbudi.
