UMNO tetap dengan pendirian tegas, tidak sekali-kali akan membenarkan dan menerima ahli yang melompat ke mana-mana parti dalam gabungan Kerajaan Perpaduan.

Setiausaha Agung UMNO, Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki berkata,U MNO memandang serius kenyataan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yang mengesahkan terdapat perbincangan awal berhubung penyertaan Ahli Majlis Tertinggi UMNO, Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz ke Parti Keadilan Rakyat . Beliau berkata, Anwar turut merujuk dan meminta pandangan daripada Presiden UMNO,Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
“Cukuplah pengalaman pahit lampau dalam permuafakatan politik lalu hingga meruntuhkan kerajaan akibat perlakuan khianat dan lompat-melompat serta mencuri ahli sesama kalangan parti dalam permuafakatan,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini. Malah beliau berkata, budaya mengambil ahli atau pemimpin parti hanya akan mencetuskan perbalahan dan pertelingkahan hingga menggugat kestabilan gabungan.Selain itu, timbul spekulasi bahawa Tengku Zafrul akan menggantikan tempat Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari sebagai Menteri Besar Selangor. – UTUSAN
