UMNO Kelantan stands firm against PAS's proposition to reunite under the banner of 'unity of the ummah,' dismissing it as political rhetoric and a veiled attempt to undermine the current UMNO leadership. Zawawi Othman, the information chief of UMNO Kelantan, criticizes PAS's wavering stance and past alliances, advocating for a focus on strengthening the ummah through sincere commitment to Islamic principles and national unity.
PAS IR PUTEH: The Kelantan chapter of UMNO vehemently rejects any offers or aspirations from PAS to reunite under the banner of 'unity of the ummah'. According to UMNO Kelantan 's information chief, Datuk Zawawi Othman, PAS 's dream of rejoining forces within the context of 'unity of the ummah' is merely political rhetoric and a campaign to belittle the current party leadership.
Zawawi stated that a statement made by PAS's Mursyidul Am, Datuk Hashim Jasin, suggesting a potential revival of cooperation between the two parties contingent on UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi relinquishing his leadership, is a political strategy aimed at garnering support. He emphasized that UMNO is not currently interested in such an offer. Zawawi asserts that UMNO Kelantan is disillusioned with PAS's wavering stance and willingness to employ any means to advance their party's interests. He contends that campaigns alleging UMNO's alliance with DAP within Pakatan Harapan (PH) and the unity government have no impact on public support because PAS itself has engaged in similar actions in the past. He believes that PAS would be more honorable by strengthening their struggle's integrity through implementing Hudud, re-examining their incendiary rhetoric and rigid stances that fracture national unity. He calls for a re-evaluation of past issues involving religious jurisprudence, accusations of apostasy, the Memali tragedy, and other divisive events, urging them to abandon the practice of 'protecting the interests' of certain groups. Zawawi concludes by stating that there is no current desire within UMNO Kelantan to change their leadership, emphasizing their resilience against such offers and their steadfast commitment to the party's existing leadership

Lawyer Razlan Hadri Zulkifli, representing SRC and its subsidiaries, said the monies received by the defendants (Umno and Selangor Umno) were through cheques issued by Jendela Pinggiran.
