JOHOR BARU: The 2023 Umno general assembly, which will be held this coming Wednesday (June 7), should be used as a “warm-up” for the upcoming six state elections, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.
The Umno supreme council member suggested that the spokesperson of each of the party’s wings, especially those coming from the six states that would be holding an election, make full use of the general assembly.“The Umno general assembly will be the start of the party’s campaign in facing the six state elections,” he said during a press conference held at Johor Umno headquarters here on Sunday .
“They should highlight major issues in Perikatan Nasional-led state governments in Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan. Ahmad, who is also deputy Finance Minister, added that Umno, as part of the unity government, has a bigger battle ahead of them in the upcoming six state elections.
