The Prime Minister’s direct message to Kim Jong Un comes after the leader promised his “full and unconditional support” for Russian President Vladimir Putin. North Korea’s leader has not been abroad in four years and has chosen his first visit to be Russia. Both world leaders are in the midst of heavy international sanctions against their countries and have much to share that the other might want. North Korea is expected to receive military technology from Russia, which they have been unable to get due to UN Security Council Sanctions blocking support for their weapons programs.
