UK and Malaysia agree to collaborate and focus on system learning, renewable energy targets, and energy-saving measures.
: United Kingdom has agreed to collaborate with Malaysia in various fields, including technology and new energy management, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
“They will provide us with detailed information on the officers, ministries, or agencies involved in the discussions,“ he said to reporters after attending the ministerial plenary session of the Summit of the Future of Energy Security at Lancaster House here on Friday. On the development of the country’s renewable energy targets, Fadillah said it currently stands at 28 per cent, and various efforts are being made by the government to achieve 70 per cent by 2050.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister said the government is also focusing on energy-saving approaches which include the use of suitable materials and the emphasis on good practices by all parties, such as switching off appliances when not in use.
