CLEVELAND, Ohio — University Hospitals plans to increase patient access to their urgent care locations by adding a new facility and extending hours at other locations. The hospital system says that the changes are intended to provide greater access to high-quality healthcare services to residents across the region, and that they are part of a larger plan to open multiple new urgent care locations across several neighborhoods so that health care is closer to where patients live, work and shop.
Offering more urgent care locations can also relieve the burden on emergency departments, allowing them to focus on critical and life-threatening cases, the hospital said in a statement. The increased access to urgent care services will also help reduce wait times, ensuring patients receive timely treatment while alleviating strain on primary care providers.
The new UH Urgent Care in Mayfield Heights at 1300 SOM Center Road will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday – Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
