PASADENA — The UCLA football team stepped on the gas and didn’t let up on Saturday afternoon, scoring the most points in a first quarter since 1988 in its 59-7 win over North Carolina Central at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins didn’t even have the chance to make a third-down play until the third quarter.
Laiatu Latu pulled down an interception when the Eagles got the ball, showing the quickness of the defense can match that of the offense. The pick set the Bruins up on the 1-yard line, paving the way for Carson Steele to pop it in for a touchdown.
