The NSW Labor government’s strategy to address rising cost of living involves both short term and long-term strategies, says NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey. Mr Mookhey’s comment comes as the state government released its budget yesterday, involving a small surplus for New South Wales. “Our strategy when it comes to this cost of living crisis is twofold. Firstly, to provide immediate relief right now, and secondly, to pair it with long term reform,” he told Sky News Australia. Mr Mookhey used toll caps as an example of short-term reform. “We are introducing a weekly toll cap of $60 for two years from January next year, but we’re pairing it with reform.”
