PETALING JAYA: Two male teenagers have been arrested by the police to assist in investigations into a viral video featuring high school students who harshly criticised the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) history exam paper.
Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Suffian Abdullah said the arrest of the two 18-year-olds was made after receiving a report filed by a female teacher.
"The police previously received a report from a female teacher regarding a viral video showing the suspects uttering abusive words as they were allegedly dissatisfied with the history exam paper. "Acting on information, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters raided a house in Hulu Selangor and arrested the two suspects believed to be involved in the video," he said in a statement Saturday , reported Sinar Harian."A screening test found that both suspects were negative for drugs in addition to having no previous criminal records.
"The case is being investigated in accordance with Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1995 and Section 233 of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission Act 1998," he said. On Thursday , a video went viral showing an individual uttering abusive words after allegedly being dissatisfied with questions in the SPM history exam paper.
