Two Russian teenagers were arrested in Spain and accused of killing their adoptive mother this week. Silvia López Gayubas, 48, was found bound, gagged and stabbed in the boot of a car on Wednesday night, in her home garage in Castro Urdiales, Cantabria. Police are treating the death as murder, with Spain's Civil Guard swooping in to detain her two sons as the lead suspects in the case.
As per Spanish legal regulations, the 13-year-old is deemed too young to face charges and will instead be placed under the care of social services. A team of psychologists and healthcare experts will need to watch over him for the time being. Police worked through the night to try and unravel the mysterious circumstances of a mother found dead in a garage and reports of her two sons allegedly kidnapped.
