JOHOR BARU: About two million vehicles are expected to enter Johor through the land route between Malaysia and Singapore via the Johor Causeway and the Second Link in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

State police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said due to this, major congestion is expected at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex at the Sultan Iskandar Building here and the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex in Iskandar Puteri.

He said it was to ensure smooth movement for travellers and to reduce congestion on the land route between Malaysia and Singapore via the Johor Causeway and the Second Link. Mohamad Fazli said the police would launch Ops Lancar to help with traffic flow, especially in urban areas and at the national border while Ops Selamat would ensure the safety of citizens including their property.

“The Senai-Desaru Expressway is also fine-tuning the proposal to use the emergency lane as an alternative route during congestion but motorists must follow the guideline,” he said.
