JOHOR BARU: More than two million vehicles are expected to travel in and out of Johor during the coming Chinese New Year holidays.

Johor Road Transport Department deputy director Mohd Edir Sanip said the department has also identified 45 hotspots in the state and will double its enforcement approach throughout the holiday season.

"To address this, we will increase our enforcement efforts to ensure the safety of road users and the smooth flow of traffic," he said at a press conference after the launch of the Chinese New Year Road Safety Awareness and Enforcement Campaign at Kempas Toll here on Wednesday . He added that Transport Minister Anthony Loke had ordered JPJ to monitor and regulate traffic flow at the Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine Complex in Bangunan Sultan Iskandar in Johor Baru and the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex in Gelang Patah.“As of Jan 14, we have recorded 127 road offences and issued 110 notices to offenders,” he said.
