Police say 12 surfboards arriving in Australia from Los Angeles were part of a bigger plot to smuggle about 660 pounds of meth into the country.
Two men have faced court over an alleged plot to smuggle about 660 pounds of methamphetamine into Australia.
Inside the surfboards, the Australian Federal Police say they found about 172 pounds of a “crystalline substance” — alleged to be meth — before it was replaced with a dummy substance. Police say they raided the unit later the same day, seizing boxes of silicone molds they believe were allegedly hidden with 440 to 660 pounds of methamphetamine.
