SINGAPORE: Two men have been arrested for their suspected involvement in housebreaking and theft, which saw them allegedly steal more than S$100,000 (US$74,400) in cash and valuables. The police said on Monday (Jul 29) that it was alerted to the incident at a residential unit along Club Street at 4.

About S$50,000 in cash was purportedly stolen, along with two luxury watches and five luxury bags worth about S$67,300 in total, and an assortment of jewellery. Through ground enquiries and images from police cameras and CCTV, officers established their identities and arrested them later that day. About S$41,400 in cash, two luxury watches and the five luxury bags were recovered.A 30-year-man was also arrested on the same day for harbouring one of the two men. Police investigations are ongoing against him.
Those who harbour offenders may face a jail term of up to one-fourth of the longest term of imprisonment provided for the predicate offence, a fine, or both.
