SIBU: Two women died in an accident involving a car and a tanker lorry at KM49 on Jalan Sibu-Bintulu of the Pan Borneo Highway on Tuesday (June 6).
Dalat OCPD Deputy Supt Saga Chunggat said the front seat passenger, Kinun, died while receiving treatment at the Selangau Health Clinic.Saga said the driver of the car, Wani Sempurai, 51, suffered serious injuries and is still being treated at the Selangau Health Clinic.
"The accident happened when the car was trying to make a turn into the road junction when it was hit from behind by the lorry," he said.The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987, he said.
