Two former Houston Police officers involved a botched raid that left two people dead were indicted Wednesday by a Texas grand jury, prosecutors said.
Gerald Goines, a 35-year law enforcement veteran, was indicted on two charges of felony murder and tampering with a government record, according to Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. The second former officer, Steven Bryant, was indicted for tampering with a government record, Ogg said. "In this case, because officers lied, people died," Ogg told reporters.
