Two fishermen in Malaysia are still missing after their boat capsized in the Keracut waters of Kuala Sungai Pinang. A fellow fisherman, Bidin Rosli, encountered the missing men, Nor Hasrul Abdullah and Muhamad Ikmal Hakimi Ismail, before their boat was swept away by strong winds and waves. Despite the time passed, Rosli remains hopeful for their safe return.
Two men reported missing after their boat capsized in the Keracut waters of Kuala Sungai Pinang last night are still missing. According to a fisherman, Bidin Rosli, 34, he encountered the two men after finishing his fishing operation in the middle of the waters at 7:15 pm. He said that at that time, the two men, Nor Hasrul Abdullah, 25, and Muhamad Ikmal Hakimi Ismail, 22, were also doing the same thing not far from there. 'They informed me that their boat had a problem.
At that time, the wind was strong and the waves were also choppy,' he said when contacted. Bidin explained that it was the last time he spoke to them before the two victims were lost with the boat said to have capsized after being hit by water. He added that even though Nor Hasrul and Muhamad Ikmal Hakimi, who also work as fishermen, have been missing in the ocean for almost 48 hours now, he is confident that both of them are still safe. 'The search operation is still ongoing and this afternoon, we, as many as 20 fishermen will also participate in the operation (together with the search and rescue team) using four boats,' he said. Yesterday, the Chief of the Barat Daya Police District, Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam, informed that his department had received a report on the incident and the victims were believed to be on a blue and red boat without registration number. In this regard, he asked the public who have information regarding the incident to contact the Barat Daya Police Operations Room at 04-8664122 or make a report at any nearby police station.-UTUSA
