BREAKING NEWS: The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office has warned the public of “heavy police activity” in Spanaway after two deputies were shot on Tuesday. According to KIRO Radio, the suspect is dead.
Around noon, there was a massive law enforcement response, as officers, deputies and medics from multiple agencies responded.
According to Pierce County’s Sargent Darren Moss, during a planned SWAT operation Tuesday morning, shots were fired and two deputies were shot.According to Pierce County Sheriff’s Ed Troyer, the suspect was described as a “three-strike violent felon.” Troyer said the suspect was in a stolen car and deputies closed the road to be sure citizens wouldn’t get hurt.Troyer said there was a gun battle and two deputies were shot.According to Moss, one of the deputies is in “grave” condition.The other deputy is in surgery and is expected to survive.
