BREAKING: Two men driving at high speeds in a stolen car are dead after a short police pursuit ended in tragedy in Melbourne’s north last night.

Police were pursuing the men in what is believed to be a stolen 4WD just after 10pm when they attempted to intercept the vehicle.

A Victoria Police spokesman said the car failed to stop and shortly after collided with a truck at the intersection of Bell Street and High Street. The truck then tipped onto another vehicle. “Following the collision, the truck then struck another car, an Audi sedan, which was stationary at the intersection,” the spokesman said.
