New South Wales Police have charged two 22-year-old men after officers seized $500,000 worth of counterfeit designer products.

A strike force established by Cumberland Police in December 2022 led investigations into the illegal sale of cannabis products online.

Search warrants were used by detectives for properties across three suburbs within 15 minutes of each other – Merrylands, Chester Hill and South Granville - at about 7.30am on Thursday. Counterfeit designer products worth $500,000, two firearms, a gel blaster rifle, gold bullion, nine mobile phones, 1.5l of cannabis oil and more than $60,000 cash was seized by police in the extensive searches.Several watches were seized by officers in the sting. The products that were found include several handbags, belts, watches and other pieces of jewellery, sunglasses, purses among other items of clothing. Both men were charged at Granville Police Station.The Merrylands man was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than or equal to large commercial quantity, knowingly deal in the proceeds of crime, and sell etc/possess import goods with false trademarks.

Police charged the Chester Hill man with knowingly deal in the proceeds of crime, and sell etc/possess import goods with false trademarks, possess unauthorised firearm, holder of category A or B licence not have approved and storage, and failure to comply with digital evidence access order.
