Two incidents of cat abuse have been reported on the University of Malaya's Faculty of Business and Economics campus. The bodies of both cats were found mutilated, with their legs severed and stomachs slit open. The University of Malaya FBE Student Association condemned the acts as an attack on the campus' safety and compassionate environment.
Stray animals are a common phenomenon in Malaysia . They are found in many places, including residential areas, food stalls, and even on campus. These animals are often loved by the local community, who also feed and play with them. However, it is sad when these innocent creatures become victims of abuse by irresponsible parties, even to the point of taking their lives.
Through a viral Instagram post, animal rescuer @shimaaris shared information about an incident of cat abuse at the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE), University of Malaya. The University of Malaya FBE Student Association (KMUM FBE) said that two incidents of cat abuse occurred on December 12 and December 16 recently. Both carcasses were found on the first floor of building H11 and on the field next to Building Azman Hashim at FBE. More heartbreaking is that both are said to have been found with their four legs cut off and their stomachs slit open. KMUM FBE considers the abuse as an attack on the safety and compassion that exists in the campus. “Such cruelty has no place in this community and we will not remain silent when such incidents occur
