PUTRAJAYA: Applicants interested in Technical Vocational Education and Training courses offered by agencies across 12 ministries now only have to apply through one channel, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi .
The Deputy Prime Minister said that prior to this, the many channels for applications into TVET agencies had caused confusion among applicants. “The government then decided to streamline all channels into one main channel – cutting across 12 ministries and private agencies offering TVET courses,” he said after launching the UP_TVET system here yesterday.
The Rural and Regional Development Minister said that he expects more than 100,000 applications through the new system.“UP_TVET offers two categories of applications – the main intake, which is twice a year, that is, in January and July, and a continuous intake throughout the whole year,” said Ahmad Zahid.
Through this channel, he said a candidate has the opportunity to receive more than one offer, although the applicant can only accept one.“The July 2024 intake opened for applications on March 25 and will close on June 11. So far, we have received more than 36,000 applications,” said Ahmad Zahid.
