With his home damaged by Türkiye's devastating earthquakes, Ali Dogru moved his family to the only place he knew he could keep them safe — the cemetery where he is working relentlessly to bury victims of the disaster.

Hatice Dogru, her son Ertugru, her sister-in-law Asli Dogru and her son Mehmet outside the bus and tent where they now live. He said he could cope with living in a cemetery, but having to deal with so many burials at once had left him with deep mental scars. "I said, 'Death could not separate this child from the mother or the father. Why would you do so?'" he said.Ali Dogru helps to bury an elderly person who died of causes unrelated to the deadly earthquake.
Mr Dogru fears for their psychological state, but cannot find anyone to care for them away from the cemetery."They saw all the people with bodies in their arms because they were with me." Ali and Hatice Dogru walk past a cracked wall at their damaged apartment after grabbing some clothes and cooking utensils to take back to the cemetery.
