The appointment of Tun Musa Aman as the 11th Governor of Sabah is expected to bring positive values to the people of the state. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed his congratulations to Musa, a former Chief Minister of Sabah, on his appointment, which takes effect from January 1, 2025. He expressed hope that the appointment will bring more success, well-being and prosperity to the people of Sabah and to the entire country. Musa, 73, was appointed as the Governor of Sabah according to Article 1 of the Sabah State Constitution, for a term of four years from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028. He succeeds Tun Juhar Mahiruddin who will complete his term of service on December 31st after holding the position for four terms since January 1, 2011.

“Semoga pelantikan ini membawa lebih banyak kejayaan, kesejahteraan dan kemakmuran buat seluruh rakyat Negeri Sabah, dan melimpah ruah ke seluruh negara jua. Saya mendoakan agar Tun sentiasa diberikan petunjuk, hidayah serta kekuatan dalam menjalankan amanah yang diberikan dengan cemerlang. Terdahulu, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim berkenan mengurniakan Surat Cara Pelantikan kepada Musa pada istiadat di Balairung Kecil, Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur.
Pelantikan Musa adalah bagi menggantikan Tun Juhar Mahiruddin yang akan menamatkan tempoh perkhidmatan pada 31 Disember ini, selepas menyandang jawatan itu selama empat penggal bermula 1 Jan 2011.
