A former Trump White House lawyer is disputing ex-White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony that she penned a handwritten note regarding the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.
Cassidy Hutchinson, who was an aide to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows during the administration of former President Donald Trump, arrives to testify during a public hearing of the House Select Committee to investigate the January 6 Attack on the Capitol, on Capitol Hill, June 28, 2022.
Sources familiar with the matter said that Herschmann had previously told the committee that he had penned the note."The handwritten note that Cassidy Hutchinson testified was written by her was in fact written by Eric Herschmann on January 6, 2021," a spokesperson for Herschmann told ABC News Tuesday evening.
"And it's written on the chief of staff note card, but that's your handwriting, Ms. Hutchinson?" Rep. Cheney asked. Hutchinson also said that Herschmann had suggested changing the statement and to "put 'without legal authority.'"
