Trump described his impeachment as 'a terrible ordeal' and called Nancy Pelosi a 'horrible person.'
President Donald Trump on Thursday took a defiant victory lap in what he called a “celebration” at the White House, a day after the Senate voted mostly along party lines to acquit him in his impeachment trial.
The president’s address followed an earlier appearance Thursday at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, where he bashed those who tried to remove him from office. His rift with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, however, suggested there is little appetite for bipartisanship as the 2020 election season kicks into high gear. Pelosi was seen tearing up a copy of his speech after Trump concluded his address. He began without shaking her outstretched hand.
