Trump invited the man to the stage during his speech and gave him a pat on the back after his comment.
While on stage with President Donald Trump, one of his supporters expressed the belief that God had a hand in the president’s 2016 election victory.
“It is my personal belief that God was looking after our country when you were elected,” Baldwin said to Trump. During his brief time on stage, Baldwin also thanked the president for his military and economic policies that Baldwin credited for rejuvenating the plant and giving it the ability to increase production and hire more employees.
“I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president, and that’s why he’s there,” Sanders said. “I think he has done a tremendous job in supporting a lot of the things that people of faith really care about.”
