THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Thursday that the trough of the low pressure area off General Santos City is affecting areas in Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region and Palawan.The LPA, estimated some 200 kilometers south-southeast of the city, was, however, unlikely to develop into a tropical depression in over a 24-hour period, Pagasa weatherman Daniel James Villamil told The Manila Times.
The ITCZ and the trough of LPA are also bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern and Central Visayas as well as Bicol Region, Villamil said.Meanwhile, the shear line, the point where the cold and warm air converge, is affecting Quezon, Aurora, Isabela and mainland Cagayan where cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms would likely be experienced.
